Awesome

Strengths:
- Awesome colour representation - Solid blacks with very little light bleed - Anti glare screen - 16:9 is for chumps... these babies are 16:10 and the added real estate sure comes in handy - Great for gaming (no ghosting), movies, photo and video editing - Height adjustable, Tilt / Swivel / Pivot - USB 3 header with 4 ports!
Weaknesses:
- Price (they're expensive but worth it - I bought 2) - Power hungry, especially with USB header attached. Don't use if you don't need. - Heavy - Get the Warranty!!! Too expensive not to. I had to return one right away because of a brutal light bleed problem. Replacement was perfect.
Summary:
The other reviewer said he had to adjust the colour a bit... I didn't find I had to do this. I was happy with what I saw out of the box. You might want to for photo editing but I work more with video and I didn't feel any adjustments were necessary. I also didn't find the menu system "tricky" either. Is it great... no, but I'm used to it and you will be too if you've owned other Samsung products. The buttons also feel solid and the entire unit is well constructed.

Samsung SA850 24" PLS monitor review

Strengths:
-Fantastic color reproduction, and properly white whites (unlike cheap TN screens) -Anti-glare screen finish is very clear (does not make text blurry like some other matte finishes) -Auto brightness control works very well, keeping brightness at a comfortable level in a dark room, and increasing as necessary when lights are on or the sun is out -Decent quality stand, with rotation, pivot, and height control
Weaknesses:
-Menu system is a bit unwieldy -Backlight is uneven, but thankfully only noticeable on all-black screens (movies with black bars are OK) -Power saving motion sensor sometimes activates if you sit in front without moving for too long, but can be disabled -Price is a bit steep, but favorable compared to other 1920*1200 IPS screens -Colors are a bit oversaturated (needs calibration for pro photo editing - somebody please share a calibrated ICC or ICM profile :)
Summary:
Overall very happy with this product after 2 weeks use. Samsungs PLS technology compares well against the similar E-IPS made by LG (and available in LG, Dell, and HP monitors). This monitor is far better than cheap TN screens for photo editing, graphics or web design, and strain-free reading. The 16:10 aspect ratio is more useful than the ubiquitous 1080p, and still allows full HD video viewing. The pixel response time is great, and allows for blur-free gaming and movies.
