- This is Duke. If you don't like it, I'm sure Duke is all concerned about it....not.
It's just what Duke fans were expecting. Sure, it could have been a little longer, but at least it's finally here. Unfortunately you HAVE to use Steam (which sucks), no LAN compatibility at all. The game is funny, witty, sexist and everything else you'd expect.
But, hey, did I mention it's DUKE??????

Seriously, 12 years of development and you are still a completely linear game with corny, or outright crappy dialogue from the main character. Sure it gets a few laughs but it's one of the only selling points. - Summary:
- Don't buy this until it's in the bargain bin.

- I think peole are expecting something this game was not, and probably not supposed to be. Duke was the first FPS I played and I thought it was great then, and reliving the experience is great fun. I enjoy it greatly so far and figure I will like it to the end. Though I may be bias, as I rarely play anything too new (starcraft 2 and COD:WAW are probably the latest I have), I play old games mostly and really am only rating this on it be worth the nostalgia and the fun I have at it.
It's very duke....

The "Duke" style is lost on today's generation, or even oldie gamers in today's market. It's not a shock lots of other people can't appreciate duke for what it is. - Summary:

If you're just an FPS enthusiast than this probably wont stack up to your expectations. If you're an old school duke fan you'll love a lot about the game but probably will still feel like it didn't bring enough to the table.
My advice to anyone playing this game is treat it like an old Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. Yes, it's ridiculous and cheesy, and there isn't much plot, but just enjoy it for what it is.

- The designers must have played the first game and taken note of the jokes, but ignored that the playability of the first one made it a hit. Games have evolved so much in the past twenty years and expansive, immersing environments allow so much more than one play-through. This feels like an old $5 shareware game from the early 90s with slightly better graphics. I didn't expect the game to be great, but this, incredibly for a game 12 years in the works, feels rushed, and kind-of insulting.

$50 may be a bit steep for some on this on though..
