Definitely some issues

Strengths:
Customer support from Gigabyte more responsive than I'd been led to believe
Weaknesses:
Board has a lot of issues with RAM
Summary:
Put together a new system with this board (supposedly flashed to the current BIOS in-store). If I don't add any RAM, I get the beep code that there's no RAM, so all good. Put in known good RAM and the fans just spin up for a sec and then back down. I did some searching and read about the exact same issue from a number of people. Some had been able to fix it by coaxing it into the BIOS using various tricks and changing the RAM voltage or something, which I haven't tried yet. GB says to RMA.

Solid Board Overall

Strengths:
BIOS easy to update/configure SATA 6GB/S USB 3.0 onboard SLI/CF support Intel Rapid Storage & Intel Smart Response Technologies
Weaknesses:
USB 3.0 Chip on-board is an ETron based controller. As a result, some USB 3.0 External enclosures will not be properly recognized in Windows. Marvell and ETron Controllers not yet supported in Mainstream Ubuntu release yet.
Summary:
This board is a great entry-level MB with support multi-GPU setups, core i3, i5, and i7 CPU's and up to 32 GB of RAM has just become my Go-To MB for new computer builds. The ETron USB 3.0 controller limitations was a bit disappointing to discover, as were the Linux driver issues. That said, they're relatively minor, and not really a concern to me. At $119.99, this is an extremely value packed MB with great capabilities for current and future upgrades. A solid 4 stars!.

needs a bit of work

Strengths:
- excellent layout /w proper placement for sli/cf
- chipset runs 35-42C /w passive cooling
- Z68 chipset
- Intel smart response works fairly well
- Current pricing is good
Weaknesses:
-bios not mature which causes a few oddities and instability issues
- Touch Bios needs work as do some of Gigabytes other in house programs.
Summary:
Memory Express would be wise to update the bios on all of these boards as they go out (currently at F4) taking it out of the hands of the customer. This is a new chipset and is definitely not rock solid. Most early adopters realize that (I hope) There are several minor issues that may/maynot crop up depending on your configuration... because of that I can't give this board a 4. Don't let that effect your purchase as all the 68 chipset boards will be going thru some growing pains early on.
