Strengths:
- Digital switching works well. - Optical output from optical or HDMI input. - Removes HDCP, good for capturing PS3 gameplay. - Sturdy metal construction.
Weaknesses:
- Bright LEDs (like a lot of these products). - 480p signals don't pass through properly to my capture card, but they do for my TV.
Summary:
I wish it were possible to contact previous reviewers. I would let Ron know that the HDMI output is actually decrypted, so if he had a problem with an HDMI-DVI adapter on the output it was probably something to do with the resolution and not copy protection. I haven't tried the component input but it's a nice switch for HDMI and DVI with optical. Does everything I wanted, with the exception of my 480p issue.

Strengths:
Works as intended as long as you connect it to an HDMI TV input Optical audio input/output Reasonably priced
Weaknesses:
HDCP copy protection prevents using a HDMI to DVI converter cable to drive older TVs with a DVI input. Remote control interfered with remote on Samsung TV
Summary:
I wanted to use this in conjunction with an older Samsung DLP TV that only has DVI and component inputs. I connected my Shaw cable box to the DVI input, my Mac mini to the HDMI input and a DVD player to the component input. Optical audio was fed through my receiver. I used an HDMI to DVI converter cable to connect to the TV. I've used this cable to drive the TV from the Mac mini so I know it works. But I could not get a picture on the TV from any input, Returned to memory express within 7 day s.
