- I have purchased the 2TB and 3TB versions of this drive and have not been disappointed because i use the 2TB for Time Machine Backups For My Mac and It works Flawlessly.. I use the 3TB strictly for windows backups and a bit of file sharing because with this product you can access your files on ANY Device that has DNLA Enabled.. I have always purchased Western Digital they make amazing products. If you are the person who has TONS of Photos , Music and Data you want to keep safe this NAS is 4 You.

- Bought this specifically to do Time Machine backups, as advertised on the WD site (and MemoryExpress site), just to get it home and schedule a Time Machine backup to get the error message "The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features". As it turns out, the WD support website reports "WD's internal software does not yet meet this requirement, and as such, Time Machine on OSX 10.7.x (Lion) will not be able to establish a connection". Will update rating if fix comes through.
