- Strengths:
- Lots of ports
- Weaknesses:
- no instructions

- Like others, I experienced the power down thing when turning on my PC. On a whim, I unhooked the power and let my PC power it via USB. Works like a charm now, and has been for more than six months and an upgrade rebuild.
Make sure you try it without the AC power supply if it's shutting your computer down!
Good usb hub

- Strengths:
- Large number of ports, efficient charging
- Weaknesses:
- Included cords are kinda short
- Summary:
- I've had one of these connected to the rear USB port of my xbox 360 elite for around four months, and I've found it to be extremely useful, as I have a large number of devices plugged in at a time, and this gives me the extra ports I need, as well as a way to plug devices in without scratching the custom paint job on the xbox. I've also used it with my Dell Inspiron laptop and my HP netbook without any problems. If you need a usb hub with a large number of ports, this is the one to get.
Stay away

- Late 2008 Macbook Pro, with no history of trouble with any other USB device (and there have been dozens).
Plugged in for the first time = approx 5 or 6 seconds later, machine completely shuts down. Have *NEVER* seen that before.
Reboot. Wait for full restart (i.e., when machine is fully running and no ore startup items are starting up). Plugged in again = 6 seconds later, machine completely shuts down.
Third time. Reset the SMC (hey, you never know). Same thing.
Just doesn't work.
- Summary:
- This is going back to the guys in Winnipeg (who are top notch, by the way!)
Best 7-port USB hub on the market continues to be, in my opinion, the Dlink model. Mine's been going for 7 years. Wish Memory Express would bring that in! I'd buy two in a heartbeat.
Warning!

- Strengths:
- It was a nice idea
- Weaknesses:
- Weak warranty and poor gaurentee
- Summary:
- I purchased this product and it came with no instructions other than to plug and play. I plugged this unit into a USB port, powered up and the computer powered up for 4 seconds and then powered down. I could not get the computer to power back up after that. This product fried my PSU, Motherboard, CPU completely leaving my core unresponsive. Memory Express takes no responsibility for anything someone buys and installs on their own so if you buy this product, get MemX to install it or you lose $$$
Finally a USB Hub that works
