- Strengths:
- Fast and quiet, Inexpensive, High Capacity for a very low price, Reliable. Mine has lasted way past warranty.
- Weaknesses:
- None, Wd has never failed me and continues to impress.
- Summary:
- Don't listen to the people who had some faulty product. that happens occsionally with every brand. WD is the best hard drive brand availible and i will never change to another brand. If you are looking for a great hard drive then look no further. I garuntee you will not be dissapointed.
STAY AWAY FROM WD.

- Strengths:
- none at all. Don't last.
- Weaknesses:
- failed within 2 months of using it. I always have bad experience with WD internal and external hard drive more than 4 times already. I will never give them another chance to rip me off with their JUNK products. Please people don't learn it in the hard way, avoid WESTERN DIGITAL.

- Strengths:
- Fast transfer rates with USB 3 - getting about 100m/s write and 150m/s read. (not sure why the transfer rates on the previous review were so bad - maybe not USB 3?)
Easy configuration options.
- Weaknesses:
- The WD "monitoring" software crashes often; there is an easy fix for this however - just don't install any WD software (other than the SES driver).
- Summary:
- Good drive - with the sale price - good value too.
DO NOT BUY THIS!

- 2 TB HD
USB 3.0
Looks Shiny
- Weaknesses:
- Failed within 4 months of purchase. Utter crap. I should have listened when they said WD can't make external HDs. I had it about 700GB filled before it started clicking. I should have taken it as a sign that it wouldn't pick up half the time. Now all that data lost. I was hoping to have a reliable HD to store all my things on. So I though. "Hmmmm. An external would be great since I can transfer stuff from my PC and laptop." Now they say they aren't responsible for the data.Prone to fail,
- Summary:
- When I told my friend about it he said he had the exact same drive (different size but still the same), He has sent his drive back for the 5th time. And it's still under warranty?! What's the point of a storage device that doesn't store? It the cost for this "data" recovery is around 500$ for this thing. If it were me I would just take the part that stores the data and send everything else back and when I get the new drive swap out the part. But that would go against their warranty.

- Strengths:
- Runs Cool
Runs Quiet
looks pretty with the shiny finish
- Weaknesses:
- sustained transfers bounced around the 38-45MBps mark, I would have liked to have seen quicker transfers
still a big improvement over USB 2.0 but doesn't seem as quick as the Seagate eSata drive I have
- Summary:
- Overall its a nice package, and will probably add another one in the future for backup
