- Strengths:
- 1. Bright and adjustable back lighting.
2. Quick way to disable the windows key. (so you wont tab out gaming).
3. Keys are close together for minimum distance for strokes.
4. Offers one USB 2.0 extension as well as microphone and headphone jack extension on the right side of the keyboard.
5. Razer Configurator support. (makes it easy to create complex macros).
6. Quick Media Keys (volume up, down and mute. play, stop, forward and backward.
7. Mechanical.
8. very comfortable to type with.
- Weaknesses:
- 1. having the buttons close together takes some time to get used to.
2. keyboard is heavy. (as to be expected with any mechanical keyboard).
- Summary:
- Its a great keyboard for any gamer or typer. Very comfortable to use and having the added media functions really is a great feature. it looks great and is definitely a must buy for most gamers. however the keyboard is a bit expensive so if money is tight I would pick up the regular Black Widow, the only difference from the ultimate is back lighting and you wont have the USB 2.0, microphone and headphone extension.
Not bad

- Strengths:
- Bright backlights, great feeling keys, macros (if you need them).
No stupid wrist rest.
Nice key coating feels great. I hope it's durable (I've heard this can be a problem).
- Weaknesses:
- REALLY LOUD, most of the noise is from the switches bottoming out, not the click of the switch actuating. A nice click, click, click would be great with these switches, what you get here is more like a Bang, bang, bang. The gloss finish really sucks, it's all covered in fingerprints now. As someone else mentioned, you have to press the function button to make the media keys work. A few extra buttons for media would have been nice.
Shift and media functions are not backlit (~!@#$%^&*()_+{}|:"<>)
- Summary:
- This is a good keyboard, if a little loud. I actually bought it for typing more than gaming, and I needed backlights because I'm not a touch typist and my computer room is a little dark. I use the Logitech G13 for gaming. It's great for typing, but I would like to see a keyboard like this with rubber under the keycaps so after the key clicks, the cap bottoms out quietly on the rubber. Click click click would be much better than bang bang bang.
Dank keyboard.

- The glow effect with my razer deathadder mouse looks sick at night.
The mechanical keyboard, material and structure
- Weaknesses:
- pretty pricey,
people near you gets annoyed.
- Summary:
- I think Most people will love this, but if you are looking to spend less i would go for the standard as the only difference is the LED and the USB,headphone mic jack.
Amazing

- Strengths:
- -Looks great, especially at night/in the dark
-Macro support for the 5 macro keys are great, easy to use and tweak
-Keys are very easy to push
-Great feel
-Heavy duty cable
-Satisfying clicking
- Weaknesses:
- -Very hard to clean after spilling a drink on it
-Needs back lighting support for individual keys
- Summary:
- Amazing keyboard, only downside was having to take it apart after spilling pop on it, as the mechanical switches need to be soaked in water for a while.
What a great buy!

- Strengths:
- -Amazing Feel
-Well Built
-Mechanical Keys
-Great lighting
- Weaknesses:
- -Cable is a bit stiff
-May cause cramps if you have big hands
- Summary:
- I was blown away by the quality of this keyboard. Mechanical keys are really a dream to type on. Makes you a little depressed when you are forced to use membrane keyboards. I am also a developer and have found that the keyboard works great when you need to type for long periods of time rather than just playing games.
Great Keyboard

- Strengths:
- -Mechanical Keys
-Cherry Blue Switches
- Function Keys to add media functions
-Gaming mode
-Back lit and the ability to turn off the back lighting
-Fatigue free gaming
-Solid construction
- Weaknesses:
- - Lack of a wrist wrest or wrist support, then again most mechanical keyboard manufacturers don't include this either.
- Summary:
- This is a great keyboard although the regular blackwidow is a better buy IMO. If you don't need to be able to plug in your headphones to the side and don't care for backlit keys get that board (who looks at their keys when typing anyway)
On a side note I can't stand when people complain about the noise of a mechanical keyboard. Your buying something with Cherry Blue switches they are loud they are supposed to be loud, you want quieter go with Cherry Brown or stick to membrane keyboard.
Excellent, with a few 'drawbacks'...

- Strengths:
- Beautiful Backlighting
Sturdy Design
Mechanical Keys
Macros
- Weaknesses:
- Function keys are awkward (most require 2 hands to access, for things such as volume control)
Macro Keys cannot be mapped to open .lnk (shortcuts), which means I was not able to easily map a macro key to control volume, as I was able to do with my previous macro keyboard, as the volume control provided on the keyboard is very awkward to access)
Loud (which some people might list as a strength)
No NKRO
- Summary:
- Fortunately, if proper volume control is a make or break selling point, you can download a free program called SharpKeys, which allows you to re-map any non-macro keys to another key or function. For example, I mapped my + and - buttons on the number pad to be volume up and volume down, and now have no issues with the keyboard.
Near Perfect Keyboard

- Strengths:
- - Typing is a dream! Keys activate with very little force, and spring back fast.
- Each key is bright crisp. Can be read in any light.
- Rigid frame with very little flex
- Integrated USB port and audio jacks. I don't use the audio, but I plug my Imperator into the USB port and it works fine.
- 5 macro keys. I don't use this feature, but it appears to have robust macro options.
- Weaknesses:
- - Clicky keys are loud.
- Only the main characters are backlit. The "shift" activated characters -- ~!@#$%^&*() etc... -- are not.
- Always one colour
- Integrated mic, headphones and USB ports are extensions of the ones your computer. These ports need to be free on your computer to connect everything.
- Needs a wrist rest
- Expensive
- Summary:
- This keyboard is just about perfect. I would like to see:
- Individually colour customizable keys. Colour zones would be OK too.
- An even more rigid frame with absolutely zero flex
- A detachable or replaceable wrist rest
- Every character backlit
- Run the entire keyboard off a single USB port. That means the integrated ports would no longer be extensions
Awesome!

- Strengths:
- -A pleasure to type on
-No gaming fatigue
-Responsive
-Great sound (although that's not for everyone)
-Macro Keys!
-Beautiful Lighting
-Great design
- Weaknesses:
- -Heavy
-It is a little tall with the back legs extended. I have to put it down to slide my keyboard tray back in.
- Summary:
- I got this price matched (no price beat, different province) and bought it at like $108 before taxes. It took a while to get used to, with the macro keys shifting the keys over to the right a bit from the left edge, but no biggy. One small issue, but easily fixed: the 123 keys on the numpad were incorrectly placed. They were placed 231. Simply a matter of taking them out and putting them back in :P although that's a really weird flaw that I have never seen before. No marks docked though.
Best keyboard i've owned.

- Strengths:
- - Cherry MX Blue switches (LOUD, and typing on this bad boy is like a dream)
- Blue LEDS (very bright - able to toggle through brightness levels)
- Sexy design
- Adjustable height
- Macro keys
- Did I mention it's a dream to type on?
- Clicky Clacky sound. Yes the typing noise is a symphony to my ears.
- Heavy, durable.
- Weaknesses:
- - USB and Headphone/Mic inputs on right side (by mouse)
- No PS/2 connection (not that big of a deal)
- Glossy finish loves finger prints.
- Summary:
- This keyboard is the best i've ever owned. I have been looking into mechanical keyboards for some time now and finally decided to go with the big brand name RAZER instead of the smaller companies (DAS, Decks ect.).
I did like the SteeleSeries 6G, however the Blue switches on the BlackWidow in my opinion are much more comfortable to type on and the blue LEDS just sold it. It's awesome to game on (I play lots of FPS and SC2)and amazing to type on.
