Excellent device but a dual HDD station is even better!

- Strengths:
- Easy to use, adds a lot of convenience.
- Weaknesses:
- This model is not a dual HDD station (vs. Thermaltake BlacX 5G 2.5/3.5IN SATA3 Dual Hard Drive Docking Station USB3.0).
- Summary:
- Great product, but hoping to see a dual HDD version of it in MemoryExpress store soon!
Terrific Product

- Strengths:
- Extremely fast on USB 3.0
Simple to set-up and use
Runs cool and Quiet
Great Value
- Weaknesses:
- LED's on unit are much too bright.
- Summary:
- I've sworn off enclosed external drives after my last one died. Hard drives in enclosures without fans tend to cook and fail. This brilliant gem puts the drive on the outside of the box where it gets all the cooling it needs from the air.
Using the StarTech 2 Port PCI-E USB 3.0 adapter card in my computer, with the BlacX 5G and a three year-old Seagate 320GB hard drive, a 237GB system image backup that took about 2.5 hours on a Seagate USB 2.0 external drive, took only 1 hour with the BlacX.
Awesome Product!

- Strengths:
- Easy to use
Speed
Cheap External Solution
- Weaknesses:
- None
- Summary:
- I used to use USB 2 & 3 boxes to put my drives in, but this is a much better solution for all of my computers. It's easy to use, portable, allows for SSD, 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives. You can swap your drives easily anytime you need to when you want to do backups or data transfers. Plus if you have a USB3 port on your computer, the speed is fantastic!
Best solution for external USB

- Strengths:
- USB 3.0 flies. Connect ANY SATA 2.5" or 3.5" hard drive. Blows USB 2.0 away.
- Weaknesses:
- None that I have found so far.
- Summary:
- Using this drive caddy I can get hard drive speeds as fast as the hard drive can go. With a WD 7200 RMP 3.5" hard drive that gives me 99MB/s on my internal SATA port I also get 99MB/s on this USB 3.0 drive caddy. With a Samsung 5400 RMP 3.5" hard drive I get 85MB/s internally and 85MB/s using this product. It will be great for SSDs running over 200MB/s. Why would anyone purchase a USB 2.0 hard drive any more?
Great products.
