Doesn't do what I wanted it to.

- I bought this external HDD so I could hook it up to my USB port on my TV.
This only worked one time and it would play everything out of sync. If I try hooking it up to my TV USB now it is unable to read the drive, but it still reads other USB devices fine, pretty disappointing.

- I own two drives and they have been rock solid, I've filled them to maximum
capacity and run them 24/7, no spin down, and they have been very reliable.
Tested the entire drive and showed no inconstancy during a 12 hour fill and read test. Again backup valuable data on a secondary unit. In summary love the drive, good value and reliable thus far for me.

- One can hardly realise that the drive is running - maybe from the blinking led in the back; no vibration either. I bought two, at a couple of months interval - I had to label them with stickers to know which is which - both are identically quiet.
- Weaknesses:
- A power switch would've been nice, but they go to sleep together with the computer (once the USB connection is not active, even the cable is left connected). So not much of a weakness.
- Summary:
- Excellent drives, very quiet, the LED is small and in the back.

Perfect for a portable Data drive with no frills - Weaknesses:
- Short USB cord, (18" ish) and the jack on the drive is a bit flimsy - computer will loose the drive if it gets bumped the wrong way
- Summary:
- Love the drive - speed is decent - not for gamig (but then it is a USB drive)
I have recomended it to many people as most of us complain over the pre-installed junk on other drives (like the WD passport essential)
