MSI usb 2.0 7-port hub

4/5
 9/2/2011 6:41:04 PM
Robert from Winnipeg writes:
Strengths:
Works well except for one flaw. I own 2 of these hubs.
Weaknesses:
Whenever I attach a WD 1TB passport drive the WD 2TB usb 2.0/3.0 compatible drives (I own three) get knocked out temporarily and end up reloading onto computer desktop (Imac 21.5" mid 2011 model with i5 processor, 4GB ram). Problem doesn't occur with WD drives that are only usb 2.0 compatible)
Summary:
I doubt there is a simple fix for this problem other than to avoid connecting in this same way with usb 3.0 compatible drives. However this post may help others with similar problems.

Strengths:
Self powered, 7 ports, light indicating port enabled
Weaknesses:
when unplugging the hub and replugging the hug into the laptop not all ports work 30% of the time . This requires me to disconnect the power and unplug the hub from my computer and it's annoying.
Summary:
Works great if you leave the hub plugged into the computer so you do not have to reset the hub each time.

Great hub, great price!

Strengths:
AC Powered
Doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, very stylish
Only $20
Works on Windows 7 64 Bit (with and without SP1)
Weaknesses:
Summary:
Was the only $20 7 port AC powered USB hub when I got it and I am very satisfied with it!

Nice thought, bad quality control?

Jay from Edmonton writes:
Strengths:
-Has all the features I wanted
-LED lights are helpful but not overly loud and distracting like cheaper hubs
Weaknesses:
My first time plugging it in, the lights came on indicating power. I then plugged it into the computer (with Windows 7 32-bit) and no drivers were found. Googled for the drivers, no dice. Then I realize the lights aren't even coming on, tried different sockets and used different USB ports, nothing.
Summary:
If it worked, I would be happy to give it a good rating.

Excellent HUB

Armin from Calgary writes:
Strengths:
Excellent HUB. I have it for almost two months now and have thrown to it every imaginable device, camera, hard drive and no visible loss of power or data rate. Much better that the 7-port Belkin HUB that keeps quit on you or overheat.
Weaknesses:
Hope it was USB 3.0.
Summary:
Great HUB for the price.
