Great soho solution with warranty to back it.

Strengths:

Four 2TB drives with multiple RAID level configurations available provides a decent network storage medium for home power-users or small offices that do not require a specialized server or highly-price NAS unit (such as high-end QNAPs etc)

Weaknesses:

The worst aspect though is also it's best aspect - the power connector. I'm puzzled as to why they would use a flimsy DC power connector on this unit (much like a laptop power connector, see the images).

If you blow the power brick, it's easily replaced with another with the correct size, polarity, voltage and mH.

Bad design in my opinion for a price like this, but w/e.

Summary:

Seagate should have taken the initiative to have an internal switching power supply which made use of a standard 15A power cable.

Unit works as advertised - no crashes or freezes - easy to configure - reliable. Link aggregation was not really needed on a device like this, based on the target audience.

Four stars because of the power connector though :\
