After I removed the drive the server worked perfectly. Don't know why the xl1000 hard drive failed and I could not find a thing on their web site to help so I am returning it and will never buy another Hitachi drive period. - Summary:
- Would not recommend the product. The product lacks a manual or instructions. Cannot detemine what may be the problem and cannot get any help from their hot line.
Not so great first impression

Worth it in the long run

Pre-formatted in FAT32 format so its great for working with MAC's PC's and PS3's and other units that read data directly off hard drives. - Weaknesses:
- the fact that there was a need for instructions
And the lack of a manual power switch.
however this is detailed in the instruction manual as to why there is no need for one. - Summary:
- A good 1TB for a reasonable price
At $10 for 2 years you'll get your money's worth out of it. And at that time you'll probably be upgrading to a 4TB drive.
