Strengths:
For 300 the CPU is great. I can't see any cons with using this cpu.

I managed to OC it to 3.6GHz on the stock cooler without exceeding 85 degrees C and 3.8GHz with a Cooler MAster HYper 212 Plus
Weaknesses:
For some reason the stock voltage is set way to high for it's stock frequency. Think when I first went into my bios it was at 1.2 volts (give or take). When I stress tested the CPU it hit 87 degrees C wich was way beyong what I wanted it. I managed to lower my volts to below 1 (I'd recomend 0.9) and the temperatures went back down to almost 70
Summary:
THe cpu is great. It's stable and after you tuen down the volts for it runs cool and quiet. Great for a budget gaming build. Throw it into an Asus sabertooth and you're good to go for the 5 year warranty of that MOBO.

Previous Generation Chip starting to show its age

Strengths:
Nice RAM access limit (24GB) and impressive speed for the price.
Weaknesses:
Older generation, waiting for the 980 to be available here.
Summary:
Unless you need the RAM limit increase from 16GB from the i7 2600k to the 24GB from this chip, you'd be better off with the 2600K. This chip is starting to fall behind.

No other choice at this new price point!

Strengths:
Since the price drop, no other CPU can compare!
Weaknesses:
Summary:
Since the price drop from about $580, there appears to be very little reason to grab any other CPU for a performance system of any kind. Pick one up!

Fast
Decent price considering speed
Weaknesses:
Runs hot....
Summary:
Ive Overclocked this to 4.2ghz so far stable with 100% load with Prime95 64bit.....
It works well Encoding video is a breeze.... i was concerned at the 80 degree Celsius at 100 % load but did some research and found Intels considers 100 degrees the maximum temp... at 3.8ghz the temps where in the mid 70's. I have a cooler master V8 cooling the cpu But i think ill move up to a water cooler soon and maybe 4.5ghz along with it :)

Great for people that don't want to overclock and still want a fast CPU
Currently the fastest quad core non-extreme edition i7 outta the box
Weaknesses:
Expensive
May run a little hot
Summary:
Very fast CPU. Pricey.
I was able to get the QPI to 3.2GHZ with DDR3 1333 RAM. That's the same QPI speed on the Extreme Edition i7's. Still within the spec of 1.5v. 1600+ is at your own risk of 1.65v+.
