Re-badged Lite-On Drive

- Smooth and reasonably quiet. Reliable. No defects burning my discs. (But I usually choose a burn speed a notch below the maximum.) The OEM disc includes burning software, and does not include excess junk such as limited-time trial versions of various software.
- Weaknesses:
- The OEM software included with the May, 2011 purchase requires SP3 if installing on Win XP. (Otherwise, it installs OK with Win 7.)
- Summary:
- I have three of these drives, the first two having been bought when they first came out. The last was bought in May, 2011. Two run under moderate use and the third under light use. All continue to run just fine under Win XP and Win 7. Will buy again.

- Works fine if you just want a dvd drive. Wouldn't really buy it to burn dvd's but that's because its a cheap drive.

- i bought this to burn some dual layer dvd's
it worked around a month , i did burn around 10-15 DL DVD's
after the month it started having hard time reading blank discs , i have wasted 40 bucks worth DL DVD's cause it gave errors in the middle of burning. the ones successfully burned didnt play at all..
Now I cant even read any disc with it at all..
I would go with a different brand next time..I dont want to buy a writer every month. - Summary:
- Its not going to be my choice again.
