Misleading Specs

- Video output works perfectly and instantaneously on macbooks of model identifier 6.1 and better (mid 2010 and newer)
- Weaknesses:
- Although labelled as supporting audio passthrough no such feature is supported, Mac is unable to see the HDMI device as an audio device to output to.
- Summary:
- Very dissapointed that this is still labelled as supporting audio as it clearly does not.
No audio, video only

- There is no audio support with this adapter.
- Summary:
- Despite what the specs on both this and the manufacturer's website suggest this brand of adapter has no audio support for any apple computer. After trying to play with all sorts of sound configuration settings on my notebook, a quick google search showing dozens of reviews that not only can I not get it to work, but no one else can get audio either. In summary, don't listen to the specs, don't buy this unless video only is all you need.
Will not pass audio from new macbooks' minidisplayport

- If you're looking for an adapter that will make use of the newly added audio passthrough feature of the minidisplay ports on the newest series of MacBook Pros, this one won't do it, despite its description of passing audio and being minidisplayport 1.1a compatible. :(
