- Strengths:

- On reconnect, strange behaviour including failure to connect. Over complicated. Give an option to just share root of drive...

Lexar 64 gb USB2 stick is drive.
Excessively complicated to set up. I just wanted to share root, map as a drive and be done with it. Kiss principle has been violated. Will be returning...

- Strengths:
- Small, inexpensive
- Weaknesses:
- Seems like you can only connect ONE of a particular device but check your specific application ahead of time.
Instructions are very basic. Requires some knowledge of networks.
- Summary:
- Very specific purpose. I upgraded to WIndows 7 and found my 'Keyspan' USB adapter no longer worked. Have 2 printers to share. Was going to purchase D-Link 1260 but staff recommended this device. Not easy to setup, requires some knowledge of network settings. Got it working but found my printer would not work properly. Aslo, can only connect ONE PRINTER not multiplie.
I'm sure it would work well for a specific purpose but research your application carefully.
I'm returning it for the D-Link

- Strengths:
- Very small size
Easy to configure
Excellent USB-Netwrok printer adapter
- Weaknesses:
- VERY S-L-O-W to read/write data to attached USB hard drive
Difficult to update firmware
- Summary:
- You get what you pay for - this little device is the price of a low-end USB to Network printer adapter, but you get some basic NAS ability. Even has FTP server built in! Tried it to make a low-cost NAS to backup some data but it was so slow as to be deemed "useless". However, we use them to turn basic USB printers into network ready printers - works very well for that task.
NAS rating - 1 star
Printer adapter - 5 stars
So I'm giving it an 'average' 3-star rating
Great idea... but shouldn't Patriot be clear about this thing???

- Strengths:
- Compact size. NAS connectivity without additional noise of enclosure fans
- Weaknesses:
- Athough equipped with 2 USB ports, you are not able to connect 2 USB data drives to it for simultaneous access. 1 port for data, the other port for a printer or other USB device.
- Summary:
- I purchased this unit for making use of some USB enclosures that were gathering dust on my shelf. After a frustrating time trying to get a set of drives online, I found out the hard way that only 1 data drive can be hooked up and active at a time!
Previous units did have both ports open for data, but it was deemed too slow for the unit to effectively function. Patriot then disabled the ability to connect 2 data devices
Patriot should really advertise this CLEARLY on their packaging!
