- The reason for five stars is simple; I'm comparing it to the only other sound card I've ever had, which is none. The difference between the onboard/ integrated audio and the Xonar DS is not really comparable. I noticed a difference right away, and it's so far compatible with all the games I've thrown at it (BFBC2, Witcher 2, DA:O, Arkham Asylum, Mass Effect(s), Fallout 3/ NV, etc etc). All in all, I think it's a pretty good product for the price.
(Oh ya, works with win7 64 bit no problem)

- My onboard sound had developed a crackle and hiss after upgrading to Windows 7. Whatever the cause, it was fixed by adding a PCI sound card.
