Strengths:

Lots of storage space and Gigabit Ethernet.

Weaknesses:

Slow, very slow.....!
Seems to lock files at random, and then unlock them moments later!

Summary:

While the price is attractive, and it connects up to a Gigabit Ethernet network, the device seems to be particularily slow. I've contacted WD several times about this issue, and they seem to be at a loss as to why it is so slow.

Another issue is the random locking of files. For example, a MS Word document stored on the hard drive will frequently be presented with an error message saying the file is locked by another user. 10-15 seconds later the file is available.
