Good midrange/high, not bad bass
takes up less space than a system with a subwoofer
Weaknesses:
Doesn't match a system with a subwoofer
Summary:
We have one for the TV and one at our business. It beats the 10W speakers built into the Sony TV system for sound clarity and volume when watching television shows. The father-in-law is almost deaf and he loves these things.
We use the other set for playing music in our store space at our our business. They fill the room fairly well and take up very little space. Very discrete.
Just picked these puppies up after looking at many reviews comparing specifically this set of speakers vs the Bose Companion 2 Series II set. I was leary of the frequent comments about the Bose being too bass laden, and I personally like having the treble and bass controls readily available, which the Creative T20s have. So far, the T20s rock!
Weaknesses:
None so far. A common complaint about these is the blue LED power light on the right speaker being too bright and distracting. Seriously, I'm as finicky as one gets about those kind of nuisances, and I don't see what the problem is. It's subtle and handy for finding the power knob when the room is dark.
Summary:
For this price range, these are certainly worth it. The sound is rich, textured. The speakers themselves are beautifully designed for "looks". If you're used to the audio quality of $30 speakers but love music and want to hear better sound from games, treat yourself to these, you won't be disappointed. These are great.
