- Strengths:
- does what it's supposed to do
make sure your computer supports hot-plug and port multiplying though
- Weaknesses:
- would have been nice to get it in black instead
- Summary:
- obviously ed and steve don't understand that it needs esata port that supports port multiplying. don't give a product a poor review because you don't know how to use it!
i got the startech pexesata21 to go with it, works fine.
Works great with any Mac!

- Strengths:
- The Mac auto recognized any drives of multiple sizes, makes, one or two drives in combinations. Especially fast with SATA Expresscard on MacBook Pro. As fast as a similar FireWire 800 equipped unit, without the added cost.
- Weaknesses:
- Only two port options, but for the price, its great.
- Summary:
- Great product if you don't need a hardware RAID solution. With the ever-lower cost of 1TB drives, it makes for many storage options if you don't mind having bare drives laying around without expensive external cases.
Struck out twice

- The package is complete with everything you could need to make this work...
- Weaknesses:
- ...but it doesn't work well. The first one I had only accepted drives in slot #1. The second one I had only recognized drives in slot #2. I tried eSata connection only, or USB connection only, or 1 drive only in either slot, or 2 drives in either slot, and rebooting the computer after every drive change. The results were the same.
The plastic white casing is very iPod-ish, but does not feel sturdy. I recommend the Thermaltake BlacX instead

- unable to test without add on card
- Summary:
- needs to be shipped with raid card as not many motherboards support port multiplying
