- obviously ed and steve don't understand that it needs esata port that supports port multiplying. don't give a product a poor review because you don't know how to use it!
i got the startech pexesata21 to go with it, works fine.
Works great with any Mac!

- The Mac auto recognized any drives of multiple sizes, makes, one or two drives in combinations. Especially fast with SATA Expresscard on MacBook Pro. As fast as a similar FireWire 800 equipped unit, without the added cost.

- Great product if you don't need a hardware RAID solution. With the ever-lower cost of 1TB drives, it makes for many storage options if you don't mind having bare drives laying around without expensive external cases.

- ...but it doesn't work well. The first one I had only accepted drives in slot #1. The second one I had only recognized drives in slot #2. I tried eSata connection only, or USB connection only, or 1 drive only in either slot, or 2 drives in either slot, and rebooting the computer after every drive change. The results were the same.
The plastic white casing is very iPod-ish, but does not feel sturdy. I recommend the Thermaltake BlacX instead - Summary:
