Comes with eSata, eSata bracker for desktops, and usb cord!!
- Weaknesses:
- None!
- Summary:
- Had this for almost a year, i was afraid of doing this for my first time... never done something like this and always hesitant... Bought this with a 2 TB sata II WD green. No issues to date! If it's suppose to light up.. mine sure doesn't.. works well for a backup drive! I use it for torenting everything. 100% recommend, bough this through a recommendation of someone else using it with a green HD.
Good bang for buck.

- Strengths:
- I bought this along with a 1TB drive to use as a pvr expander for my digital shaw box. Have since converted it to a storage/media dive on my computer. Works great all around! Good solid design. The add on eSATA connection for PC is nice. Makes for much faster transfers! Haven't used it on usb yet.
- Weaknesses:
- The entire Velocity logo on the front of the case lights up blue and it's very bright. When the hard drive is "thinking" so to speak, it flashes. When I was using it as a pvr expander it was constantly flashing. It could be quite distracting when trying to watch TV, especially at night. However, it can be disabled easily by disconnecting the wire from the LED to the circuit board.
- Summary:
- Overall I'm satisfied with this product. Can't beat the price.
Not very confident in this device.

- Strengths:
- Low price
Looks sharp
Easy to use, nice design
- Weaknesses:
- Swapping between USB and e-Sata a few times rendered my drive unreadable on 2 occasions, the master boot record was hooped so I had to reformat the drive and lose all data, and almost a TB was a lot to lose, lucky for me it was a back up!
- Summary:
- Might be good if you stick to one interface, but I'd be cautious about expecting plug and play between multiple interfaces.
Good buy!

- Strengths:
- Is cheaper than the name brand enclosures by $12.
- Weaknesses:
- outside appearance isn't as nice as name brand ones.
- Summary:
- I hooked this baby up in a few minutes and hooked it up to my Shaw PVR and works like a charm! Easy to install and the Velocity logo shines in a brilliant bright blue color.
Worked great!

- Strengths:
- Build quality seems fine.. metal casing, 4 mounting screws for the HDD, what more do you want.
Worked fine out of the box, no troubles connecting it via USB to my router, and eSata to my computer.
- Weaknesses:
- Just a nit-picky thing...
the blue LED is neat, but the whole front logo is blue, so its distracting if its near your monitor or such.
- Summary:
- for what i use it for (backing up important files from my main machine), its working flawlessly.
Does what it's supposed to do

- Strengths:
- Sleek aesthetics
Works to expectation
- Weaknesses:
- What is with the power adapter?! The cord is short and the brick is horrifyingly shaped. My router has the exact styled power brick, just my luck to jam two of these contraptions in my power bar.
- Summary:
- Works as expected, keeps drive very cool, looks sleek. The power adapter is just mean.

- Great price, pretty darn good quality.
- Weaknesses:
- Summary:
- After reading a couple of the reviews, I was a little hesitant. I bought it and I am very happy with it so far. You bolt the Hard Drive in 4 places to the holder so there really is no issue or stress regarding the board it plugs into. I'm not sure why a few thought this was an issue? I have used it with both USB and Sata and both work very well. The only issue with Sata it has to be turned on and boot with the computer for the computer to see it. At least so far that's what I have found. Also might require to be set up in the BIOS. USB can be plugged in anytime and the computer immediately sees it. Great product.
Awesome

$10 cheaper than the vantec
works
- Weaknesses:

I have not found any of the weaknesses described in the other reviews to be true. They now pack a different power cable so it is no issue.
- Summary:
- All the reviews on here about the drive mounting upside down and stressing the board = BS. The drive is mounted to a steel plate.
This enclosure is identical to the Nexstar 3 just with a different name and not as shiny. The port that the power supply plugs into feels sturdier than my Nexstar 3 and this is $10 cheaper than the Nexstar.
Picked it up with a 1.5TB drive to use as a PVR expander for my new Shaw HD box and it works perfectly.
Wait for Version 3

- Strengths:
- electronics work
- Weaknesses:
- poor internal design. circuit board and labels mount the hard drive upside down. the hard drive's own weight puts stress on the enclosure circuit board, and that of the hard drive.
- Summary:
- this might be just a labeling problem, or a reflection of unskilled engineering. avoid.
