- Strengths:
- Inexpensive. Comes with both standard and low form factor back plates.
- Weaknesses:
- This card comes with the RTL8168b/8111b chipset which is known to be cheap (both price and quality). Although some such cards with this chip set can get by, this one won't even talk to an identical NIC via a cat 5 crossover cable. Talking via switches sometimes works, sometimes not. Best at 10Mb (!). Causes watchdog timeouts at 100Mb and 1Gb.
- Summary:
- Go with the Intel PRO/1000 PT instead (not currently carried by memory express).

- Summary:
- Not sure how well it performs. New MB, wanted 2nd NIC for dedicated network for virtualized linux server. New MB GB NIC is a Realtek as well. Drivers got confused, couldn't have this card plugged in, both NICs disappeared (Win 7 Pro 64). I didn't check for IRQ conflicts, not saying it's good or bad, just wanted to warn y'all about that. By the way, if anyone gets it to go, please post a review
