Easy to assemble / disassemble
Firewire 800, 400 works beautifully
Small footprint on the desk
Weaknesses:
Unit gets warm after a few hours of use. No issues with HDD, no heat related errors or glitches, but it gets warm.
Summary:
After 2 years of use with a Samsung 650 gig HDD, I can honestly say that this is a good reliable external enclosure for a 3.5" HDD. Since I'm a Mac user, I use the FW 800 interface, and there has been no issues, other than a slight thermal issue that comes up after a few hours of use. The case does get warm, but so far after 2 years there has been no thermal induced errors or glitches from the enclosed HDD.
In short, it looks good, works good, and after 2 years, it's a winner.
-QUAD INTERFACE
USB 2.0, IDEEE1394a/b, eSATA
-All cables included
-Easy to follow instuctions
-5-10mins setup
-Aluminum Housing for better cooling
Weaknesses:
-No Rubber on feet prone to slippage.
-Gets a little hot, nothing unbearable or too drastic
Summary:
I was sick of seeing USB2.0 HD's. Firewire400 works better than USB. The lack of IDEEE1394b external HD's frustrated me. Needed a 1TB Firewire800 for my MacBook Pro. Was not satisfied with pricing and performance of WD & LaCie. Bought this, popped in a 1TB Samsung Serial ATA internal HD easy as pie. Plugged it in, formatted, and voila! SO EASY. LOVE IT!
