Yeah less expensive but..
Weaknesses:
after a couple of wks, my camera cant even read it. Even if you format it, and u save ur pictures, you wont retrieve it.
Summary:
I bought this a couple of yrs ago from MemoryExpress Wpg branch. It worked for awhile but after a couple of weeks, my Nikon D90 cant read it. Too bad i cant retrieve my pictures. Even if I formatted it, it will take pictures but wont read it if you wanna browse ur pics or copy your pictures or video out of it.

Product works in my Pentax K-x, Canon FS100 and Canon S90.
Weaknesses:
Mail-in rebate sucks. Why can't they offer instant rebate instead?
Summary:

owned two, two that fell apart

fast, cheap
Weaknesses:
cheap cheap cheap
Summary:
I bought one of these about a year ago. and one about 3 months ago, the first one physically fell apart 3 months ago (hence the new purchase) the second one just fell apart a week ago... this time I RMA'd and after paying for the shipping I'm still waiting for my replacement... I definitely wouldn't buy again.

works well with linux on 701 and 4G EeePC

good price for the capacity, adequate speed.
Weaknesses:
existing FAT formatting. advise to wipe first as follows:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb bs=4096 conv=sync,notrunc

then use Gparted live to partition and format with ReiserFS, taking care to check the "Align partition to cylinder boundaries" option.
Summary:
seems adequate, don't know why others report problems with Eees, unless maybe they forgot to set the BIOS OS-install setting to "finished" before installing (because if it's not, then the SDHC slot is set as 'read-only' so you won't be able to write to it.). don't use any swap, do set the notail, noatime, nodiratime options in fstab, and you'll be fine.

Great for price

Storage size, price, & speed are great combination. filling it up with 15 megapixel RAW/JPG pictures over the holidays, I haven't seen performance issues as others have noted.
Weaknesses:
Nothing in the 2 months of using it as my primary data storage on my DSLR.
Summary:
Sounds like if it's good from the start, it's good for forseeable future. At this price and the continued reduction of these, I see it as a disposible item that is tossed away when it eventually breaks.

Good price. Good 5 year warranty.
Weaknesses:
Got 2 cards for my camera. One is working fine. The other one kept the camera frozen during writing to the SD card. The error was intermittent, and random. Returned for exchange. Managed to convince the customer service rep to do the exchange. Because one working and the other one has intermittent write error. Hopfully the 3rd one will work fine.
Summary:
Got 2 cards because of good price and good warranty. One is defective. I would return the defective one if I could, but it passed the 5 days return policy. Hopefully the exchanged one is a good one.

Strengths:
reletively cheap
good for larger files
Weaknesses:
slow on small files... it took like 25min or so to copy 9,000 word documents. (something like 4.8MB/s)
Summary:
very good, for the cost.

Now I Know Why It's So CHEAP

Plenty of storage space.

Everything else.
Slower than my Sandisk Ultra II 2GB Class 4 Card.
Data corruption in my Nikon D40.
Summary:
Maybe I just got a dud, but my first experience with Patriot was not a good one. I wanted a fast SDHC card for my Nikon D40 with plenty of space to shoot in RAW mode but was plagued with very slow performance compared to my 2GB Class 4 Sandisk Ultra II. Then the card would randomly stop working with error messages on my Nikon saying that the card was unreadable or that there was data corruption on the card. Returned it and put the money towards a fast reliable Sandisk Ultra II. Now I'm happy.

Works great

Love it. I have one for the camera and it works great for videos and pics. Never have to worry about running out of space. I have one for the GPS (Garmin) and works great on there for my audiobooks. I have one for my 8GB EEE PC with webcam and stuff and it works fine on that too. Got all my rebates.
Weaknesses:
Rebates do take a long time but it does come!
Summary:
Great to use and easy to use. Excellent price for what you get.

can't wait for the 32 and 64 gig ones
