Excellant for it's price

- It consistently able to switch from one machine to another without hassle. Having the 1-2 buttons are a huge benefit - other switches at this price are hotkey only and are prone to not working or freezing if you enter the wrong sequence.
- Weaknesses:
- Spider layout of cables require a bit more space. If you are using vmware player, make sure you have num-lock turned on otherwise it will auto switch when the cursor is moved out the window.
- Summary:
- Overall a good switch for its price. Others I have tried may freeze up or not switch forcing me to shutdown and unplug/replug everything. The 1-2 button is great so my kids know which computer is being displayed (home versus work).
VMWare server problems

- Main server is running VMware server. Unfortunately, VMware player and KVM both use Cntl+Alt sequence for passing control of mouse and keyboard, thus as I try to switch from VMW player to console, the KVM switches.
Don't get me wrong, with the exception of the VMware situation, it's a pretty decent KVM. But the VMware issue is a killer for me .. and I waited too long and now can't return it .. nuts..
Inexpensive USB KVM

- My Logitech blue tooth key board and mouse actually worked. Just plugged the blue tooth USB reciever into the keyboard USB port on the KVM.
Not recommended for quick PC switches as the Bluetooth USB has to disconnect and reconnect with each PC switch. Takes about 20 seconds and a few times I had to re-sync the keyboard.

- this units price is very low so i didnt know if i wanted to buy it but im glad i did. i tryed a dlink one and it didnt work but this unit worked right away. i dont trust plug and play stuff so im glad this came with software. It supported my microsoft keyboard and mouse also it worked with my old windows xp system and my new windows 7 beta build 7000 system too. I highly recommend this KVM.

- When switching computers it has a severe tendency not to pick up your keyboard or mouse, and the quick switch command scroll lock + scroll lock rarely works. Worse yet windows repeatedly gives the error "a device has malfunctioned" and will not fix it despite disconnecting and reconnecting and even restarting the computer had no effect.

- Don't get this, get anything else, but not this, I'm returning mine as soon as I can.
