Not Worth It: Strengths are WEAKNESS too

Strengths:
- 4 temp sensors
- 5 fan control (if 2 identical and 1 4pin PWM)
- simple use and easy set-up
- failed fan alarm
Weaknesses:
- annoying fan jogging
- poor viewing angle
- 1 fan contol is 4pin with PWM regulation
- Failed fan alarms at start-up
- No power extension cable (buy a 6" 4 pin Molex extension if you get this!)
Summary:
NOT RECOMMENDED: so many strengths are weaknesses too!
- The failed fan alarm goes off during my start-up because the two 240mm fans in the CoolerMaster HAF 922 start-up slowly.
- The HAF 922 has two 240mm and one 120mm fans with only 120mm fan mounts elsewhere: can't find a 120mm fan for the 4 pin PWM connector so it is wasted.
- Mounted it in the top bay but with bottom power mount I had to buy a 6" 4 pin molex power cable to reach with nice cable routing.

Strengths:
- Looks really nice
- Has 4 fan connectors
- Shows RPM's, Power consumption
- Alarm for when the fan is not functioning
- 4 temperature sensors
Weaknesses:
- LCD has very limited view angles
- The controller has problem adjusting fanspeed, and most of the times fans keep changing speeds, ( the problem varies with brands )

- having half the length of a 5.25" drive bay, it sometimes doesn't hold firm in the place ( depending on the kind of case you have )
Summary:
I dont recommend this product as it doesn't do what it supposed to do which is controlling the speed of the fans as the fans keep changing speed from highRPM to low RPM constantly

My recomendation is to get a fan controller with knobs like this one:

or make sure what you get is capable of keeping any fan spinning at a constant speed at which you desire

This Unit Rocks! - But beware of its quirks!

HyperLight Research from Downtown Core writes:
Strengths:
+Measures PC power draw from 30 to 800W with 3% accuracy (we checked against a lab standard!)
+Controls 4 different fans at 4 different speeds.
+Generous 1-Amp current limit for each fan. By stacking thermal tape under the unit's PC board we were able to pull over 3A per PWM channel.
+Unit can be disassembled into control unit and power board. Using a longer link cable between the two parts allows for some amazing customizations! We mounted the control head into the front bezel of a COSMOS 1000
Weaknesses:
-It doesn't have enough 3-wire PWM channels for most cases. Yes, 4-wire fans are smoother and more reliable, but for now they're only about 2% of the fans out there. (Except for CPU fans which you MoBo should be controlling FOR you).
-Tends to cause "surging" with some fans. RPM's drop to Zero. Alarm goes off. Fan does to max speed. Repeats.
-Display is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to read. If has a 5 degree field of view IF THAT. This can PROBABLY be fixed by simply changing a resistor on the display boar
Summary:
The best controller I've seen SO FAR that doesn't rely on a Windows tray application to actually get the job done.

If you have an interesting mod or hack for this controller, I'm all ears: Hyperlight.Research][-at-][gmail.com

(Almost) perfect fan control with bonuses

Andrew Coe from Edmonton writes:
Strengths:
great control for up to 4 fans (one 4-pin and 3 3-pin) plus system power consumption (in watts) and temperature from 4 locations.
Good looks and performance.
Weaknesses:
viewing angle on the LED display is limited (big weakness). There is a lag in the input fro RPM changes (minor weakness)
Summary:
This is a great unit overall, but the narrow viewing angle on the display is annoying. OK if you have your case on the desk, but you'll be on your knees if it's on the floor.
