- Strengths:
- Works brilliantly on Mac OS 10.5 with Eye TV 3. Able to record and edit TV programmes from all the major networks. This stick was able to receive 9 channels (5 in high definition) in Vancouver and 20 high definition channels across the border in Seattle, USA. With Eye TV 3 I was also able to burn the edited programmes on to DVD disc and play it on a regular DVD player.
- Weaknesses:
- The ATSC digital signal isn't compressed so one hour of programming takes up 7 GB of storage space. The included remote doesn't work well with the newer versions of Eye TV (3.2 upwards). But the soft remote (Eye TV remote) makes up for it.
- Summary:
- Definitely buy this if you want free high definition Canadian channels on your Mac using Eye TV and want to record and burn programmes on to DVD discs. Goodbye cable provider!
NOT up to their past standard

- Strengths:
- Weaknesses:
- Flaky software, poor support
- Summary:
- Sounds like it works better with Media Centre,
Locks up, records in the wrong format - can't play back on another computer, Support doesn't reply to emails, no solutions except wait for next version (every 2 weeks!) Tells me to use Media Centre (NOT FREE!!). After 10 months of reducing the features I use and waiting for fixes, It will now cost $10 for the next version!
I've HAD IT!!!!

- Strengths:
- - USB
- Price
- Works with Vista Media Center (32 and 64 bit)
I have mine setup to record all the shows I like to watch then I view them when I want. For me this is a cheap PVR, and with 1TB of storage on my home server I move over the files nightly to share from any computer.
1 hour show is about 2-3 gigs in size.
- Weaknesses:
- - Need to download latest drivers from the net, download these before setting up Media Center. You'll need to reboot once but then you can download the TV Guide and pick your shows.
- Summary:
- For me this meets my needs as far as getting a PVR goes. I've owned many tuners before getting this one, I can see this brand being my new standard when I eventually upgrade this one. The price at ME cannot be beaten, I've paid close to $60 for so-so PCI based cards but they did not work with Media Center.
Get this, you will not be sorry.
Not bad

- Strengths:
- - Small, easy to connect
- Works with Vista Media Center - 32-bit and 64-bit
- Good price (got it for $69)
- Weaknesses:
- - Not the best video quality, but not much worse than most TV tuner cards - internal or external
- Included software not very good, but the Vista Media Center software is excellent so I just use that instead
- the included USB cable is ridiculously short - might need an extension cable
- Summary:
- It required a few patch downloads and it wants to run all kinds of startup programs in Vista that Vista has to ask you about every time you boot up, but other than that, it installed fine and seems to work great with Media Center. Recordings are as good quality as live TV - Media Center allows all the features the included software doesn't have.
