Reliable product

- I have had 3 of these and all of them are still working great. Fairly consistent build quality and reliability. Great to have around for lots of portable data.

- I bought this to replace the IDE Vantec I already had (and loved). I paired it with a Western Digital 500gb notebook drive, it worked flawlessly (even tho the site says it works only up to 160gb). I get 40MB/s CONSTANT writes with the device on eSATA. I really like how the enclosure is powered via USB BUS, so no power to plug into the wall. Glossy finish is sweet.
- Weaknesses:
- Glossy finish is really kool, but shows all fingerprints. And I wish that Mem-X carried the other colors of this model (my IDE one is RED and i like the color better than black)
- Summary:
- This ecnlosure is awesome, 500gb of storage and its tiny. I had my IDE one for 3 years and it never stopped once so i know these are durable. I would reccomend this product to anyone.
You get what you buy but it can be a little small.

- The enclosure is very slim. Does not fit older thicker hard drives. My old laptop hard drive is a fujitsu 4200rpm and being that it is an older 2.5" drive it would not fit in the enclosure.
