Did not work properly, produces "slow", lagging sound and crackling

- bought this card a couple of months ago when buying a new build, and was unfortunately quite disappointed. The sound itself was a bit better than on-board audio, but it produced crackling noises here and there, and what was especially annoying, the sound was "slowing down" quite frequently. I exchanged the card, and got a new one, but it was the same. Ultimately, I had to return it, and looking at online forums, I seem to not be the only one with such problems.

- This card is dirst cheap and it preforms like it is dirt cheap. Mine produced sound for me that was absolutly horrible. My music sounded like a 1980's video game not Hard Rock music.

- cheap as dirt, i have logitech z2300 and switched up to auzentec 7.1 for over $100 and this one works well enough that i have another computer without a sound card and i will buy this one for it. a friend is running the 5500 series with it and works equally well for him

- this is a great sound card for the price. i got mine like 2-3 years agho for 99$ and it was worth it then allso. ive used this with my logitec z5500 speakers and it sounds more crips then my onboard 7.1 sound card
allso if you DJ this is a nice feather as you cna have 2 sound card 1 for headphones 1 for speakers - Weaknesses:
- no optical orCoax
- Summary:
- compared to some of the new cards out their this still stacks up to them and for nearly 1/2 the price. the lack of coax and optical is becase its older all and all a great card and great bang for the buck
