TFT LCD Defect Policy

Despite the highest possible standards, the intricate manufacturing of thin-film transistor ( TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) screens may still produce slight visual imperfections. These visual imperfections do not impair the performance of your ASUS notebook. However, ASUS will provide the warranty service for your ASUS notebook's TFT LCD screen when there are at least :

(a) 3 bright dots or 5 dark dots or 8 bright and/or dark dots in total; or

(b) 2 adjacent bright dots OR 2 adjacent dark dots ; or

(c) 3 bright and/or dark dots within an area of 15 mm in diameter

These TFT LCD screen warranty conditions are offered by TFT LCD manufacturers. ASUSTeK will therefore, at its option, repair or replace the product.

Please note: A bright dot is a white or sub-pixel that is always on. A dark dot is a black or sub-pixel that is always off.

  • Print and retain these instructions for reference.
  • Please select the Online RMA Login on this page that will transport you to the Warranty Procedure page. Select Continue at the bottom of the page.
  • Choose your appropriate customer type: End User
  • Enter your phone number, which will serve as your Login for the Online RMA system. Select Continue.
  • Create a new shipping address or select the existing address. Someone must be available at the address you enter to sign for any warranty shipments. Our carriers do not service P.O. Boxes. Select Continue.
  • Enter your contact information. Select Continue.
  • If creating a new RMA, you may download the diagnostic utility and the user's guide, run the utility against the hard disk drive and write down the diagnostic code.
    or
    Select Continue. A diagnostic code is NOT required before an RMA is issued.
  • Enter the model number, part number, serial number and date of manufacture in YYYY-MM format (e.g.: 1999-02) from the product label. Select Continue when finished.
  • You may Remove or Modify the entered RMA line information by selecting the respective buttons.
  • Select Submit when you have verified that the RMA line information is correct.
  • If your product is covered by our Replacement Program warranty, you will be given the option of securing an Advanced Replacement with a credit card or sending the product in first as a Standard Exchange. If your product is not covered by the Replacement Program warranty, you will automatically be given the Standard Exchange option as Advanced Replacement is available for Replacement Program products only.
  • If you have the option and choose Advanced Replacement, enter your credit card number (VISA or MasterCard) and billing address for pre-authorization. Your credit card will be charged if the returned product is not received at FCPA's warranty center within ten (10) calendar days from the date the RMA was issued. There will be a temporary hold placed on the credit card in the amount authorized.
  • In the next screen, it will show you the ship to address, ship to contact information and credit card information you've entered (in case of an Advance Replacement) and all the products eligible for warranty. You will have the option to Accept, Modify or Cancel the RMA in this screen.
  • If you choose the Modify option, it will allow you to modify the credit card number (in case of Advance Replacement) or RMA lines. If you choose the Cancel option, it will cancel all the information you entered.
  • If you choose the Accept option, your credit card will be authorized with a temporary hold (in case of Advance Replacement) and the RMA number, with shipping address, defective drive return address and packaging instructions will be displayed. Please print two copies of this page, follow the packaging instructions and enclose a copy of the RMA with the product.
  • To check the status of your RMA at a later date, login into the RMA site following steps 1 - 3 above and choose Check RMA Status.
  • Any open RMAs you have requested will be displayed. Click on the RMA for which you wish to view status. Note: RMA status is updated on a daily basis.
  • RMA status information will be presented next to each RMA line item. The status will be either Received or Shipped. If product has been shipped, the ship date, waybill and carrier information will be displayed
